The Anthropomtric Study of a Haitian Negro Woman reflect on the legacy of anthropometry, which was used in the past to dehumanized bodies of color. Blackness in particular, has been systematically constructed and backed with science and biology. When ask to create a anthropometric measurement out of my own proportion, I wanted to highlight that history. I created a tool that measures the part of my body that are overfetishized (mouth, nose, butt, breast, skin). The tool was later translated into an installation piece.
